Lakers & Blue Reign crowned champions of 29th MLK Jr 3x3 Basketball

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Lakers of District 3 and Blue Reign of District 2 were crowned champions when the Martin Luther King Jr 3x3 Basketball Tournament organised by the Sea Cows Bay Basketball Club in collaboration with the BVI Olympic Committee was held at Multi-Purpose Sports Complex on Sunday, February 16, 2025.

Under 13 Division

Lakers defeated Money Boys of District 6 by a score of 10-6 in the Championship Game.

Delonje Bedford top scored with 9 points while Brad Benjamin scored 3 for Money Boys.

Bedford was later named MVP for his 15 points registered throughout the championship.

Osmarley Browne, also of Lakers, netted 13, while Benjamin had accumulated 10 for Money Boys.

Splash Brothers of District 6 was the other team that participated.

Under 17 Division

Blue Reign took back the U17 title to District 2 after defeating Solid Gold 12-3 in the Championship Game.

Zion Phillip and Antoine Riley both had 6 points apiece for Blue Reign.

Solid Gold, also of District 2, saw their points scored by Jadey Glasgow (2) and Jahy Smith (1).

Phillip also collected MVP honours for his 22 total points.

Jadey Glasgow had 15 total points.

The Sea Cow's Bay Basketball Club has extended appreciation for the BVIOC, the staff of the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex, Dean H. Greenaway, Charlie Jackson, Julian Willock, parents, players, scorers, referees and others for helping to make this 29th Annual MLK Jr Tournament a success.
