Kyron A. McMaster sets new National Indoor Record in 400m
McMaster, the National Record Holder in his pet event- the 400m Hurdles- recorded a time of 45.84 seconds in the 400m while competing indoor at Clemson.
His time bettered the previous Indoor National Record of 46.97 seconds, which was established by Khari Herbert on March 11, 2017.
McMaster’s 45.84 seconds is also a World Indoor Championships qualifier. The established qualifying mark for indoors is 46.50.The World Athletics Championships was scheduled for March 13 to 15, 2020 in Nanjing, China but has now been postponed until March 2021 due to the 2019–20 coronavirus outbreak.
The two-time Diamond League champion and Gold Coast Commonwealth Games gold medalist, McMaster also holds the outdoor 400m hurdles National Record, 47.54, which was set in June 2018 in Paris.
