Knight & Stoby take Dive BVI 5k Series on VG
That did not stop Reuben J. A. Stoby from making it across to the sister island and ensuring a clean sweep of the series.
Stoby, coming off a second place finish in the Carrot Bay leg of the Blenheim Trust 5K Series, pulled away from the lead group after the first mile to win in 18:18.
St John’s Jeremy Zuber, who has won the 8 Tuff Miles on that island some six times, took second place in 19:20 while Curwin Andrews finished third in 20:57, beating his arch nemesis and veteran runner Emrol Amsterdam who clocked 21:11 for fourth.
On the distaff side, and with no Rosmond Johnson, Katrina Krumpler or Maria Mays, Rebecca Knight won in 25:31. She also claimed the series with the win.
Tara Murphy was second in 31:40 and Tasia Veenkamp third in 32:18.
