‘Kirk’ bringing unstable conditions
This, according to the National Hurricane Centre, which has reported that the Virgin Islands (VI) can expect that today, the tropical storm force winds are expected to stay south of the Territory, however outer rain bands from the system may create unstable conditions.
The storm is expected to produce showers and thunderstorms with rainfall of 1 – 2 inches are possible with higher amounts.
Sea farers are also being advised that an advisory in is effect due to Northern Swells.
“This may increase to a warning as the system gets closer to the area around Friday…Small craft operators are asked to exercise caution and sea bathers are asked to exercise caution due to possible rip current on northern coasts,” according to the Department of Disaster Managment.
No formal watches or warnings have been issued for the territory however, the DDM will continue monitor and provide updates of any changes.

The northern ground sea is being generated by a north Atlantic storm between Nova Scotia and the Azores. The rip current warning on the northern coasts of the BV islands has nothing to do with TS Kirk
