ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Former Marketing Manager and Head of Corporate Communications Kareem-Nelson Hull’s last day on the job at LIME BVI was on November 30, 2015.

This was confirmed by CEO of LIME BVI Tim R. Ringsdore and Commercial Manager Ravindra Maywahlall.

Speaking to this news site last evening December 8, 2015, Maywahlall explained that the positions of Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications held by Hull and that of Head of Retail Sales and Customer Service previously held by Maywahlall were made redundant under the new structure of the corporation as it is undergoing rebranding.

“In the new structure what replaced those was an amalgamated [position] called Commercial Manager to which both Kareem-Nelson Hull and I applied for. So now everything corporate communication and consumer sales related comes under my portfolio as the successful candidate,” said Maywahlall.

“It is not as if he was fired or anything like that. Our roles were made redundant and we had to be interviewed for the new role,” he said.

Maywahlall went on to say that there was a handover on November 30, 2015, Hull’s last day on duty, noting that Mr Ringsdore had arrived in the territory a few days before Hull’s departure and was not on the ground for the decision to make the aforementioned positions redundant.

Ringsdore in a recent exclusive on Monday December 7, 2015 said that there will not be any more senior staff changes now that he has taken the reins of the corporation. He said, however, that this did not mean that there won’t be changes at all.

LIME’S former CEO Sean L. Auguste and Head of Business Sales and Services Ken Guiste were shown the door as part of the company’s restructuring.

In early October 2015 this news site reported that we were informed by reliable sources within the telecommunications company that Mr Hull's last day on the job had been expected to be at the end of October 2015.

However, when contacted October 6, 2015, Hull said he was on vacation and not permitted to discuss LIME's business while off the job.

Efforts by this news site to reach Hull for a comment on this latest development proved futile yesterday, December 8, 2015, as he did not respond to our inquiries.

Kareem is into marketing so he couldn't get that job over Ravi. It's all about performance and local or not, Ravi performs.

When some of you don't know jack and come here with your dumb comment, it's sickening. I am sure Ravi has been working at Lime for donkey years and has more experience than Kareem. Locals always crying that they're not getting any jobs, but they should ask themselves, DO WE MEET THE QUALIFICATIONS?

Stupid comment. BVI Government and Labour has been turning a blind eye to a lot of things and listening to foolish talks. Sometimes it is who you know and who you are friends with.

This is Kareem'S country. Kareem is more than qualified for that job. So to answer your question..Kareem more than meets the qualifications. In addition he is a perfectionist and is super creative. I don't care how many donkey years you here. When you come to another mans country respect is due or Get To Hell out! Once both candidates have comparable qualifications it should go to the local candidate.
I don't care who get vex...

As a lime customer, I am not interested in hearing all of this fluff! All I want is good and working service and for my bill to stop jumping all over the place! And I know other customers share the same sentiments.

This new GM is full of talk, what we want is good service at a fair cost! The service in the BVI sucks and we don't want to hear how the system slow because we using to much data on apps! This is life now, a world of technology!

You all increase your fees and have not even upgraded the whole island!

Many may rejoice at this news, the sad part about it is many of those rejoicing will be locals. Mr. Hull, keep your head up because one thing is certain, LIME is not the end of the road for your greatness. Jobs come and go, its a part of a professional career, especially one such as the field you are in. I have no doubt you will be hired, if you already aren't, by another company in a similar or elevated position. Some people can only hide behind their computers and these blogs because their pathetic lives fail in comparison to yours. Keep on keeping on!

How do you know that? There seems to be some hardcore BVIslanders who wanted Kareem to be in that job. Don't forget that that more than half of the people living here are not originally from here.

The BVI no longer belongs to us because we are outnumbered. We have created a monster and now we cannot get it controlled.
    • DOWN ISLAND (09/12/2015, 14:24) Like (30) Dislike (13) Reply
You can get it controlled by going to school, get your degree, get qualified, stop sitting on your lazy butt and think because you born here you should wear a gold slipper.

What a load of ignorance you are talking. For your information, few other Caribbean Territories look at immigration status in the way this country does...this country would be far better off if it started to focus of qualifications/experience rather than where a person born. Where is BVI going with this small-minded mentality of entitlement by reason of birth only. This form of nepotism is killing this country..when are you all going to wake up and see? Let the best candidate get the job...this mentality is producing a nation of slackers...see what you doing to yourself...THINK!

Boss most of you all so called degrees are either bought, fake or duplicated, you all use your smart talk to get around. You all are no more qualified than us, we are a real set of people. The problem is that we are too naïve and kind so you come here call us down and take advantage.

Lime does no belong to NDP, but I do agree that Labour need to do more investigating before they grant some of the work permits they grant so easily. There some firms in the BVI who can get a work permit for anyone.

I will support my both by Purcell brethren.

But at the end of the day Ravi does have more experience than Hull.

and hypothetically speaking Hull is of an immigrant upbringing so don't that as an excuse. Last I checked Ravi went to school (and was the Val) in the BVI.

I wouldn't worry about Hull as he is a survivor, he will be ok.

You speak like a Moran. I happen to work in an organization with mostly expats and they are the slackers. In addition the quality of their work is nothing to talk about. Only a foolish nation would put others above their own. Countries like Cayman! Bermuda, Bahamas..put their people first and have built outstanding countries. Don't come here spouting off your bull. You are not superior to us although many of you who come here tend to walk around with your superior attitude and call down my country. If where you come from so much better then go home to your land of milk and honey. Trust me you won't be missed

I don't when we as BVISLANDERS will wake up and see what is going on in our country. Once we are qualified for a job or position we should get preference...I don't care who get vex...that's just the way that it should be. In alot of other countries they look out for their countrymen why should we be any different? But the powers that be get paid under the table and give the "ok" for things like this to continue to happen and then they wonder why we don't want to come home after completing college. Stop the madness...you come for a while. ..you on contract...contract is up....time to go. Foreigners that come here many of them have no real ties here..they send their money out of this country every chance they get...check Money gram and Western Union especially on a Friday...utter madness! Yes LIME is restructuring but Government should mandate that qualified locals are at the forefront and given preference. ....my sweet Tortola is changing. ..we need to get it back....or is the Government asking for an uprising?
