JvD placed on complete lockdown for 7 days
The Order comes as Health Minister Malone had stated health officials were doing active contact tracing following reports a passenger who travelled to St Vincent and the Grenadines recently tested positive for COVID-19 on arrival in that country.
“This Order shall come into force on the 21st day of July, 2020. 2. (1) For the purposes of guarding against, preventing or mitigating the spread of COVID-19 and the probable consequences associated with the detection of COVID-19 in a person residing or visiting Jost van Dyke, the Minister on the recommendation of the Health Emergency Operation Centre directs that the measures as specified in the Schedule to this Order be implemented,” the Order stated.
All persons visiting or residing on the island of Jost van Dyke shall be quarantined for a period of seven days for 24 hours a day from Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at 1:00 am until 5:01 a.m. on July 28, 2020, subject to such conditions as stipulated in the Health Emergency Operation Centre Guidelines.
Suppression measures
“For the purposes of subsection (1), no person shall be on the streets, and every person shall remain confined to their place of residence (inclusive of their yard space) for the period specified in that subsection. 3. No person or vessel shall travel to or from Jost van Dyke, except with the permission of the Minister for Health and Social Development in consultation with the Joint Task Force comprising of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force, HM Customs and the Immigration Department. Citation and commencement. Measures for guarding against, preventing or mitigating COVID-19. 3 4.
Any person who is residing or has visited Jost van Dyke shall be subject to robust contact tracing and also COVID-19 community testing by the Ministry of Health and Social Development and the BVI Health Services Authority,” the Order stated.
Hon Malone had said on July 19, 2020, that the public is well aware and is therefore reminded that if the Virgin Islands is to avoid COVID-19 community spread and thereafter the return to a lockdown protocol, everyone is strongly encouraged to strictly adhere to all Public Health measures that have been put in place for their protection.

I want to believe something is not right.
Firstly she was with a family member when going home. Been with this family member for dayssss. So how only she get tested positive
Let's look at the facts about.
1 locally we haven't had any known cases for weeks now.
2. Covid 19 once an individual gets it. The whole house whole getting.
So my question how she get it and not the family member who is older than her.
My thing as one blogger on the linked previous article.
A lot of expats going home with hate n fire in their hearts
So many say or maybe even do something to hurt or stain the vi
So no one travelled from or to Jost in the last couple of days and could have been in contact with this person hummm
They're saying people were coming across from ST Thomas yet NOONE reposted it
Pure stupidness
Time to lock us all up again, most are not wearing masks properly, very little social distancing occurring at supermarkets bars etc. AND they've just announced they we are going ahead with festival. SERIOUSLY ¡
If it's here we are all in serious trouble.!!!
If you want to lock down again, feel free but we have bills to pay of which the Government won't be helping us with. We need to learn to live with this. The BVI is not in the economic position to do another lock down and our Government knows this hence why we need to learn to deal with these cases as they pop up. Did you really think the BVI would have no active cases forever? Come on now.
