Just gossip? Social & Political class on edge over Mika Barry April 4, 2023 launch
While it seems that no one is spared from the anonymous Facebook series, this time they seem to be tagging the political class, from current Ministers of government to former Members of the House of Assembly, and political aspirants.
While many have their speculation as to who is behind the page ‘Mika Barry’- from former and current law enforcement operatives, and foreign agents trying to destabilise the Government, to local creative activists- one thing is for sure, the page has caught the attention of the social and political class in the Territory.
April 4, 2023, Mika Barry Launching?
In the upcoming Season 8 expected to be launched via Facebook on April 4, 2023, the gossip and controversial page promised to reveal who is cheating on whom, politicians who cannot be trusted and even who they deem to be hypocrites.
While many still have not been able to verify the owners and writers associated with the page, it is unclear if any legal actions can be taken for defamation as a result of slander or libel of residents’ names and characters.
One local attorney speaking to our newsroom noted that unless the owners, editors et cetera of the Mika Barry page are known, it will be challenging to bring a case for defamation (slander or libel) but there is always the option of making complaints to Facebook itself.
The page appears to be around since 2020 and has accused residents of all kinds of unconfirmed allegations, from who is bisexual, which married couples are cheating and who is into the drug trade.
In some quarters of the Virgin Islands, the unfounded claims have caused social and political anxiety.

Well the community spirit is not going well in the USVI & PR with all the killing & economic downturn.
At the end of the day it also seems to be destroying trust in Royal VI law enforcement because everyone on this article is saying it must be police who are leaking information which would logically imply VI police are being extremely careless, however that is what they want us to believe. As such its probably not true in this case.
Everything considered its an attempt to destroy the VI from all angles not save it in any way.
Consider what would VI police benefit from putting out information on criminals when they hardly ever do it because they are very proud to withhold the information?
If its police its probably not VI police & they probably arent accessing the data they've gathered legally either. By the way isn't espionage a serious crime what is really going on here?
