Juliet Rogers aka ‘Yellow’ hospitalised; missed from the streets

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Ms. Juliet Rogers aka ‘Yellow’ known to all for her frequency on the streets of Tortola requesting money for drinking a beverage has been hospitalised.

She has been admitted to Peebles Hospital, the government run facility on the main Island of Tortola about two weeks ago.

The reason for her admission is unclear, however our news room's sources inside the BVI Health Services Authority reported that she had surgery.

‘Yellow’, who is the sister of BVI Tourist Board Chairman Russell Harrigan, has become the symbol of homelessness and perhaps mental illness in the Virgin Islands.

Many shop and grocery store owners alleged that at times Ms. Rogers walks into their stores and remove items without paying.

Others said she is peaceful and only ask for just a $1.00 with her famous phase “do you have a dollar to spare.”

‘Yellow’ a Virgin Islander grew up on the main Island of Tortola and went to both primary and high school here. She was a skilled boat captain before she took ill.

    I have known her for many years, when she was well and then when she was not well...we helped her and called authorities when things were serious...everyone didn't know...I am truly glad she is getting help and will be better and calm in her life and within her self...Please...

      Well you talking bout her brother but what about her son, he's living the life and only God knows if he will even come and try to help with her. Common Keshawn this isn't high school anymore where you have to be ashame of your mom she's Ill and needs the help its time to pitch in.

    I have been visiting her time to time see how she been she's doing well and on recovery despite of how she is we all try our best , no one in this world is perfect .. I'm just gonna continue be there for her numerous people I will hear talk about her and they don't know that she's my mom and I'm proud cause whenever she need something she knows where I work she can get it I never refuse her , but I'm glad to have my mother alive

      Continue daughter for one day you will be greatly rewarded. I have known her for many years and it's her knowledge is what she had been tried by the enemy for. Don't give up every comeback is greater than the fall. She will rise above and beyond it all. Smile and give God Thanks and praises for get everyday.

    I used to give Yellow money all the time but I got wiser as I realized that I was only feeding her habit to her detriment. Now I ask her if she wants me to buy her something to eat and she say no she want a drink, so I keep my money. Drinking alcohol on an empty stomach is problems for your Liver.

    I hope she gets well fast and hopefully straighten up, get a job and stay off the streets and the alcohol.
