Julian Willock praises Nanny Cay Marina’s Free Water initiative
The former House Speaker, businessman and District Three political aspirant, Julian Willock, has commended General Manager Miles Sutherland-Pilch for sustaining the effort, particularly amid ongoing water challenges in the district. “This is good corporate responsibility, to always give back,” Willock said.
Longstanding community partnership
Willock noted his long-standing collaboration with Nanny Cay Resort, which has included sponsorship of the Third District Committee’s annual Job Fair, donations to local schools, and assistance in placing residents in employment.
He said both the resort’s owner, Mr Cameron McColl, and the General Manager remain deeply committed to the Sea Cows Bay community and the Virgin Islands (VI) as a whole, often supporting countless events and causes quietly, “from their heart and not for publicity.”
Servant of the people
Reflecting on his own public service, Willock said, “Throughout my journey, wherever I have relations with Corporate VI or individuals, my goal has always been to see what I can get for my people and not for myself, because I remain a servant of the people.”
The free Nanny Cay water connection is located on the resort's property. When the property is open, residents can access potable water at no cost.
Willock & the Third District Committee’s track record
Willock and his Third District Committee have donated thousands of dollars to schools and individual residents, placed close to 20 residents in jobs through their annual job fairs, and distributed countless back-to-school items to students and parents. He noted that he is “about solutions, as the easiest thing to do is criticise, but solutions take actual work, building, requires courage, time and vision."
