Joseph R. Biden In! Donald J. Tump Out! Biden is next US President-elect
Projections from broadcasters including CNN, NBC News, CBS News, ABC and Fox have all shown that former Vice President Biden has secured the over 270 Electoral College votes needed to be declared the 46th President of the United States.
In a narrow defeat against Trump after a heated political season, the results should bring an end to the bitter campaign that exposed deep divides in a country still suffering in the midst of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.

"I am honoured and humbled by the trust the American people have placed in me and in Vice President-elect Harris," Biden said in a statement.
"In the face of unprecedented obstacles, a record number of Americans voted. Proving once again, that democracy beats deep in the heart of America," he said.
The results mean Vice President-elect Kamala D. Harris will be the first woman of colour to be elected to the Vice President chair and also spells the end of Trump’s stay in the White House after a single term.
President Trump has since indicated that he will not concede to Biden, tweeting that he won the election by 'a lot'.
