WASHINGTON DC, USA- Four months before Americans go to the polls, President Joseph R. Biden has announced he will not seek reelection; however, he will serve out the remainder of his term.

Biden's withdrawal follows weeks of intense pressure from fellow Democrats after a faltering debate performance against Republican Donald J. Trump at the end of June.

“And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term,” Biden wrote in a letter he posted on his X account today, July 21, 2024.

He added: “I will speak to the Nation later this week in more detail about my decision.”

“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President,” he wrote.

President Biden thanked his Vice President Kamala D. Harris, saying she was an "extraordinary partner".

Trump was already leading President Biden in several swing states but after an assassination attempt on him recently, a new poll showed the former president gaining even more ground – unless a younger Democrat replaced Biden.

He did the right thing. He was clearly unaware and unwell.

He is being a statue, a skeleton for so long. Why wait until this late. Camella needs to know that she needs to refused the Nomination on grounds " Not enough time". Avoid the set up. Scape Goat and blame that will focus on her. She is going to lose. No one can beat Trump.

If Trump is the best the United States has to offer for their President, and if he wins, then they are SCREWED and will go down in history as the Weakest Link. I shudder to see the outcome of this happening.

Not a chance.. A white woman with more power, more qualification more experience in Hillary couldn't win, America ain ready for a woman, especially a black one.

Times have changed since 2016. The Supreme Court has made a number of terrible decisions, and people may be ready to make a change in their old ways of thinking - Harris could win. Especially if there is a good candidate to join her as VP.

With all the young vibrant Harvard and Yale educated politicians in the US they can't find 2 people to run for their parties. Trump is crazy and Kamala is weak. Come on people!

After the next 4 years under TRUMP the economy will be back, prices of gas, groceries, homes, rent will all come way down, crime will be dealt with, border will be secure, wars started under vegetable brain Biden will be ended. In 2028 Yale educated Vice President JD Vance will take over and keep everything running smoothly
