Jehovah’s Witnesses hosting conference to combat 'pessimism' in VI

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI –The Jehovah’s Witnesses religious organization is hosting a conference targeting persons in the Virgin Islands (VI) who may be facing uncertainty about the future or may be experiencing pessimism it according to the organization.

“In the face of widespread economic strain, national conflicts and social unrest, surveys indicate that confidence in the future is at an all-time low in many countries and lands, including the British Virgin Islands,” the organization said in a March 31, 2023, release.

Further, it added that according to the 2023 Edelman Trust Barometer study, 24 of the 28 countries surveyed are seeing “all-time lows in the number of people who think their families will be better off in five years.”

The organization said against this backdrop of pessimism, a special global program featuring the theme, “You Can Face the Future With Confidence!” will be held on the weekend of April 1-2, 2023. 

“The free 30-minute presentation will be hosted at local Kingdom Halls of Jehovah’s Witnesses, with a videoconferencing option available. Please check the “Attend a Meeting” section on the homepage of jw.org for local addresses and meeting times.” 

Bible remains powerful hope - Robert Hendriks

Mr Robert Hendriks, spokesman for Jehovah’s Witnesses added that while the challenges being face may seem overwhelming, the Bible remains out a powerful hope for the future that can help us right now.

“This global program is designed to give all those who attend tangible reasons to face the future with confidence,” he said.

The special talk is the first of two free programs that will be held in all 118,000 congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses during the first week of April.

The public is also being invited to join nearly 20 million other global attendees for the annual observance of the Memorial of Jesus Christ’s death, to be held on the evening of Tuesday, April 4, 2023, with free admission.

      They love being slaves to a god they have never seen. Slave mentality since the white man forced their religion on us Africans. Since then, some are still not strong enough to break the chains of mental slavery. Please don't come to my door. I will tell you to leave and then slam my door in your faces.     How can this organization make such a statement as they have on control of future events. We probably will be a world War in 2 years. Supply chains will be disrupted. Money may become much less valuable I hope not but that is waht I see. Too much turmoil in the world.

    It's not uncommon for Jehovah's Witnesses to host conferences and events to discuss their beliefs and encourage their members to stay positive and optimistic in the face of adversity.
