VALLEY, Virgin Gorda, VI- A Kevin Fisher-Daniels hat-trick saw the Islanders F.C. to a comfortable 5-1 win against Rebels F.C. when play in the BVI Football Association (BVIFA) National League continued at the Virgin Gorda Recreation Ground on Sunday, October 25, 2020.

All of Fisher-Daniels’ goals came in the first half (17th,19th,36th minutes) and the game was effectively over well before half time.

Rohan Lennon rounded out the scoring in the 88th minute, whilst the Rebels consolation came in the 73rd.

The Islanders now have 34 points and the Wolues F.C., who are idle until November 7, 2020, sit 2nd with 29 points but have a game in hand.

Sugar Boys blank Panthers

Sugar Boys F.C. sit in third place after comfortably beating the Panthers F.C. 3-0, with goals from Terry Nanton (11th), Magrath Baptiste from the penalty spot in the 70th and Rolland Roberts (85th).

In the other game on Sunday, a goal of the season by T’Khoi Richardson was not enough for VG United to defeat One Caribbean F.C. as the game ended 2-2.

One Caribbean F.C. are fourth on the points table.

Dramatic comeback for Lion Heart

Action on Saturday, October 24, 2020, saw a dramatic comeback from Lion Heart F.C., who recovered from a 3-1 half time deficit to snatch a 5-3 victory against Old Madrid F.C.

Nano Ottley, Fitzroy Daley and Giovanni Grant had seemingly secured the victory, but Necarious Watt’s goal just before the break was a momentum changer for Lion Heart as they went on to pull level in the second half with goals from Shevaughn Thomas and Rohan Sweeney before Janel Ferdinand notched the go ahead goal in the 75th minute.

Play continues with another four games this weekend.
