Island Bird plane suffers blowout @ T.B. Lettsome Int'l
While no one at the local airport responded to phone calls as news reached this news site, knowledgeable experts on the ground informed this news site that Island Bird's Piper Aztec suffered a blown tire on Beef Island as the aircraft was landing on the runway.
While it could not have been confirmed whether there were passengers aboard the aircraft it was reported that the owner Bob Lemire was in one of the pilot seats at the time our source got there. It is unclear who was flying the aircraft at the time.
On December 21, 2012, an aircraft suffered a similar fate when attempting to land at the Auguste George Airport in Anegada.
