ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Acting Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Transportation, Works and Utilities, Mr Andrew L St Hilaire has said the restoration of the traffic lights in Road Town has begun.

Works commenced at the Intersection of Administration and Waterfront Drive on Tuesday, August 13, 2019.

Mr St Hilaire said the objective is to enhance the safety of motorists and pedestrians through the restoration of the signalised intersections damaged by the hurricanes of 2017.

He further said following the restoration of the intersection, the installation team will restore the lights at the Pasea Intersection and Station Avenue. A programmer will be brought in from overseas to set and time the signals when the installations are complete.

The public is therefore reminded to adhere to all traffic signs as the Ministry of Transportation, Works and Utilities remains dedicated to ensuring the continued development and maintenance of public infrastructure in keeping with international standards.
