BALSAM GHUT, Tortola, VI- Word just reaching our news centre is that an inmate of Her Majesty's Prison in Balsam Ghut, on the main island of Tortola, has been stabbed.

The incident reportedly occurred sometime before 3:00pm today, December 3, 2020, according to sources.

Unconfirmed reports are that the prisoner was stabbed in the neck and back.

He has reportedly since been taken to Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital.

The prison was reportedly placed on lockdown following the incident. 

Reports are the victim is at HMP for illegal entry while the perpetrator is said to be incarcerated for murder.

Efforts to reach prison authorities were unsuccessful.

    Hmmm..How did this Murderer get possession of a knife? He is incarcerated for murder and he almost committed another in the prison itself. This needs thorough investigation. When the illegal prisoner gets better please send him straight home. What good would it be to have him return to prison? Please repatriate him as soon as possible.

    Up here in the prison is run like a Drug Cartel....Please help us, Drugs, Alcohol, weapons and corrupt staff that were promoted by (Guard)...Please Help! Somebody! Anybody! Who running this country?

    This is a travesty, free Kamel Wilson that young has endless health issues as it is. A crying shame a murderer is alow in general population.

    When will the Government give the prison more attention, these guys up there wearing their best fit, jewelry, have cellphones, weed and alcohol. They should be wearing prison clothing. They are up there living better than us out here that's why they don't care if they go back in. The guards and warden letting everything slide up there.
