Individual hospitalised with COVID-19 dies

According to reports, the individual passed away this morning, July 8, 2021.
This information was confirmed by senior medical officials at Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital.
While the now-deceased patient may have had other health issues, our news centre was informed that they had experienced challenges breathing following the COVID-19 diagnosis.
While VINO has the name of the deceased, we will respectfully allow all next of kin to be properly notified, including extended family and friends, before publishing.
Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) conveys sincere condolences to the immediate family and asks the public to remember them in their prayers.
So far, the government has classified only one death in the VI as COVID-19 related.

Unfortunately hospitalisations and deaths usually increase about 2 weeks after the wave of infections.
The next few weeks are going to be rough for the BVI.
No apologies!
The vaccination may not prevent you from getting Covid but it lessens the symptoms of this virus which very well will save your life!!!!
Vaccination gives you a fighting chance against the virus and prevents you from getting severely ill. Continue with your ignorant thinking!
Such an irresponsible behavior and comment. I am convince this individual disguise under such name is full of hate. I pray you find the peace you so need. God is love please do get some.
We had enough time to decide our fate. We can’t keep locking down. If so, we need to start worrying of dying not just of Covid but of hunger.
Promote a healthier life style...try keep the water in the BVI on after 7PM...
Even if u are pos the vac won’t help u right now as Hon said yesterday it takes 2 weeks dlr the vac to do anything.
U can google it immunity and COVID
People saying the vaccine was rush. But over years tv, cell phone and many other technology have advice in a strong time.
Why things like this must still take 10 years to get right now. And now we can call people from watch and thing
Open another tab right now and just look it up.
"astrazeneca vs delta variant"
Stop getting your information from people who have no idea what they are talking about.
You can still keep God in your life and accept that he blessed us with the knowledge to fight this thing through the hands and minds of those who developed the vaccine.
Take the vaccine to reduce your symptoms, reduce the strain on medical personnel and increase your chance to survive this outbreak.
Rest in peace and condolences to all.
Vaccine will NOT prevent the spread or anything, it is here to stay. The chances of dying from Covid if you are NOT vaccinated is 3% base on data.
Let's say we have 100 unvaccinated individuals got covid, it is safe to assume the 3 will die.
We have the best vaccine (astrazeneca) take it while you can, and avoid mRNA vaccines if possible. Do NOT ask me why, do your own research remember all vaccines are EAU at the moment and we do NOT know what mRNA spike proteins can do to our bodies in 3 to 7 years time.
From the statistics in the USA 309M people have taken the vaccine 5,208 people died after taking the vaccine 0.0017% is the risk. (underlying health conditions apply)
The numbers clearly show the risk of the vaccine are extremely low and the unvaccinated people the risk is extremely high. The decision is a risk one. "What are the risks to me ?"
A gentleman has just died and you all here fighting.
USA does not use the Astrazenneca so why are you using their stats for our situation? The number 5,208 is what they tell you but I am sure that is way more than that as many cases they blame on underlying conditions. Anyways I would not like to be in the .00017 %.
Now back to local statistics that are more relevant. Why is the CMO refusing to give detailed statistics of what percentage of the symptomatic/ asymptomatic are vaccinated/ unvaccinated/ or partially. Now would be a good time to win over the people who are on the line when it comes to taking the vaccine. Just spoke to a gentleman and he was big on the vaccine, and he took it and he saying now seeing it in action he would not take a booster shot.
At the end of the day it comes down to your immune system. Build that up naturally through healthy living.
Yes it is important to live healthily but exercising and eating all the good foods in the world won't do you any favours if your immune system cant recognise the threat of a virus in the first place.
YOUR PASTORS WILL NEVER SABE YOU
VACCCINE MAY SAVE YOU. BUT TOO LATE NOW.
NOAH’s ARK IS LEAVING.
SCIENTISTS AND DOCTORS
MAY SAVE YOU.
TOO LATE, NOAH’s ARK IS LEAVING.
Vaccination helps. It gives your immune system a chance to make antibodies to the virus. While it does not prevent all illness, it has been shown to lesson severe symptoms of illness to a great degree. Less severe illness. Less death. Less spread of the virus. The more a population is unvaccinated, the more the virus has a chance to spread and mutate into new (some deadlier) variants. So, I for one URGE people to GET VACCINATED!!
No apologies!
Calling the numbers no one answering either?
most times the issues begin from the top and trickle down...
RIP to the young man and condolences to the family
