'I’m repentant & I’m asking for forgiveness'- Premier Wheatley
Many of the elected representatives have sought to distance themselves from the alleged illegal actions of Mr Fahie and have also asked the public for forgiveness where they may have not spoken up for the people when required or would have supported certain policies and projects that turned out to not be in the public’s best interest or indicative of good governance.
On Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 8, 2022, Premier Dr the Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) got his turn to not only apologise to the people while in church but to also request prayers for himself and the new Government.
The VI has been ‘warned’- Dr Wheatley
Dr Wheatley, speaking at the Community Worship Centre, Church of God of Prophecy in Long Look, said the Virgin Islands has endured a lot of recent, beginning with the floods of August 2017, followed by the devasting Hurricane Irma and the COVID-19 pandemic.
He said God has continually given the VI “another chance” but His mercy was taken for granted.
According to Premier Wheatley, the National Unity Government is also another chance given by God to do right.
“This morning we had an earthquake. I believe that’s a warning because, like we said before, God can take us off the face of the map, but his mercies never fail. We have to repent as a nation, we have to repent individually and that includes myself because, of course, I believe very firmly God has a plan for my life.”
A 5.0 magnitude earthquake was felt in the VI around 9:32 am on Sunday, May 8, 2022. According to the Puerto Rico Seismic Network, the location was 26.61 Km or 16.5 miles North of Anegada and 54.65 Km or 33.9 miles North of Virgin Gorda.
Quoting 2 Chronicles 7:14, Dr Wheatley said the Virgin Islands has a chance to do right by God and that includes the National Unity Government, or else the nation could be in “deep “peril”.
‘I’m repentant & I ask forgiveness’
“So, I’m here this morning and I’m repentant and I’m asking for forgiveness. Where I have gone along with things which are not right, I ask for forgiveness. Where I have seen and not done the right thing, I ask for forgiveness. Where I have encouraged division instead of unity, I ask for forgiveness. Where we have ignored the cries of the people, I ask for forgiveness. Where I have not conducted myself in a right way, I ask for forgiveness, and I know that God will be with me and he will forgive me and he will heal this land.”
Dr Wheatley also warned that God should not be mocked “because God is not pleased with that, so we have to worship him in spirit and in truth. Worship him with our whole heart because of course I believe he will deliver us from the snares of the enemy.”
Bishop Naaman Chalwell then prayed for Dr Wheatley and also encouraged him to put his faith and trust in God.
The National Unity Government is being proposed as an alternative to the draconian measure of suspending the Virgin Islands Constitution and the imposition of direct rule by the United Kingdom.
The coalition government has pledged to work along with the United Kingdom to implement the recommendations of the Commission of Inquiry Report.
A decision has not yet been announced by the Governor, as to whether the objection to direct rule by the people have been respected.

Moving forward, please bring forth fruit meet for repentance; we will see what( if anything) can be done to help…
We have to be mindful that Andrew went on and on about God making a mockery of His name so let your actions show your obedience to God.
At the same time, you can’t serve two masters or follow only certain parts of God’s Word.
Partaking in religious festivities that worship idols or a god and not God is a mockery.
Likewise, ancestral worship and praying to ancestors in not of God.
Exodus 20:3-6
3 “You shall have no other gods before me. 4 You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.”
Don't Displease the Lord
Isaiah 8:9 NIV "When men tell you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living?"
The bottom line is that if you are a believer in Christ you should desire to please Him. Those who are not followers of Christ may not understand this.
Ancestor worship came to America with the African slaves. It has continued and there are people who say they are consulting their dead relatives or they know their deceased loved ones are looking
out for them. The Bible forbids believers to consult any spirit except the Holy Spirit.
This should be reason enough to leave the pagan practices alone. It's not worth being lost for eternity to follow the crowd. Our goal as Christ followers should always be to allow His Word to be our guide.
Now while you may have had bad experiences with BVIslanders to colour your OPINION and you may also be looking at this public degradation of our legislators and country, be mindful that everyman is responsible for his own acts. DO NOT JUDGE a whole people. DO NOT JUDGE PERIOD. You have no right to do that. I rebuke your pronouncement over me, my children, family and country and certainly refuse to be labelled as someone that practices black magic, is racist and ignorant. I believe in Jehovah God...the I AM, my belief in God guides me and His word says that all men and women are His. He bought us with His blood and that tells me how precious we all are so we ought to love one another as He loves us.
I agree that what ever is done in darkness must come to light but leave God to do His work. Let us all busy ourselves in working out our own soul salvation. Let us consider ourselves because when we think we are standing we can fall badly.
Romans 16:18
18 For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive.
Jesus and Zacchaeus
19 He entered Jericho and was passing through it. 2 A man was there named Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was rich. 3 He was trying to see who Jesus was, but on account of the crowd he could not, because he was short in stature. 4 So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore tree to see him, because he was going to pass that way. 5 When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for I must stay at your house today.” 6 So he hurried down and was happy to welcome him. 7 All who saw it began to grumble and said, “He has gone to be the guest of one who is a sinner.” 8 Zacchaeus stood there and said to the Lord, “Look, half of my possessions, Lord, I will give to the poor, and if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I will pay back four times as much.”
Fire them all.
