Ice Connection & Magics secure wins in latest VG Summer Jam play

VALLEY, Virgin Gorda, VI- Ice Connection and Magics were among the winners when play in the Summer Jam League 2024 continued last weekend at Jeffrey Caines Arena in Virgin Gorda.

A Division play on Saturday, September 14, 2024, saw Ice Connection turn back the challenge of a game Without A Doubt, 86-80.

Ice Connection were shouldered to victory by Zion Jones and Amadius Der-Weer who both ended with 21 points. Der-Weer was also excellent on defence and finished with 15 rebounds.

Without a Doubt’s challenge was led by Jolyon Wilson, who had a game high 23 points in a losing effort.

Development vs Elite Sharks

Two other games were played on Saturday. In the C Division, Development stopped Elite Sharks 46-39.

Neshaun Frett led Development with 16 points, while Christian Marks supported with 7 points and 23 rebounds. K’Maya Jiminez grabbed 15 rebounds.

Sha’Mauri Leonard top scored with 13 for Elite Sharks.

All Deh Smoke vs Development 2

In B Division play, All Deh Smoke (82 points) stifled Development 2 (58 points), with Michael Sue netting 17 points, and Kyle Farrington and Junior Douglas scoring 15 each for the winners.

Jamarly Rimarez had a whopping 24 points, 11 rebounds and 9 steals in a losing effort for Development 2.

In Dah Zone vs Just Play

Two games were played on Friday, September 13, 2024.

In a Division B clash, In dah Zone outplayed Just Play, 102- 51.

Kaleb Lawrence sunk 21 points, and grabbed 19 rebounds, while Corey Clarke and Ajani Stevens dropped in 12 each.

Just Play’s top scorers were Diallo Turnbull, who had 15 points and 14 rebounds, and Jeh’Velo Woodley (19 rebounds) and Jayden Joseph, who had 11 points apiece.

Magics vs Tun It On

The big Division A encounter was between Magics and Tun It On. Magics worked their on-court magic to win, 74-67.

Ashied Frett led the scoring for Magics with 19 points while Demoi Dagou netted 15.

T’Khoi Richardson had a game high 22 for Tun It On, while Mekhi Waters scored 13 points and pulled 13 rebounds.
