HORSEPATH, Tortola, VI- Minister for Communications and Works Honourable Kye M. Rymer (R5) has stated that the Horsepath dip that has been a longstanding issue with motorists and residents is to be rectified.

“We have Mr. Percival here who is mostly affected in terms of his property,” Honourable Rymer said, adding that motorists have also experienced difficulties with the way the dip is designed.

“Noting this issue, the Public Works Department went out and did a design for this area, and today we are here to present what we are intending to do to correct this dip,” the Minister said.

Changes to traffic flow

He also explained the upcoming changes to the traffic flow that will occur once the works begin.

Deputy Director of the Public Works Department, Mr Kurt Hodge gave a brief presentation of the plans for the reconstruction of the dip and addressed concerns by those persons in attendance.

It is unclear at this time when will work on correcting the dip will start and what would be the duration.

It is the natural ghut/flow of the land. I hope he takes consideration when there's a large flow of water.

Yup. Theyre always working against nature. Reminds me of purcell road(or purcell ghut). Back in the days, the public made it a habit to drive through that ghut. Later on, they decided to use the ghut as an official road, using it to access land by breaking away pieces of the ghuts wall for entry(hence bendown and the rest of the nearby properties). After being so frustrated because water flowed through the natural GHUT and flooded parked cars on the GHUT, they THEN took it a step further and dug the ghut down lower, ran pipes underneath the ghut and paved over it to 'fix up' their 'road' (think about all that s**t for a min) so that the heavy waters from johnsons GHUT doesnt naturally flow through the original ghut, but rather run underneath and doesnt affect their "road".
Nature still won. Ask Irma and the Aug 2017 flooding.

AS I WAS SAYING , THOSE WERE MY THOUGHTS TOO , THERE HAS TO BE ROOM FOR WATER TO FLOW DOWN THERE FREELY , SO THAT VEHICLES CAN BE ABLE TO GO UP OR DOWN WHEN THERE IS HEAVY RAINS AND THAT WILL BE VERY GREAT ALSO , ESPECIALLY IN CASES OF EMERGENCY

Simple pot holes they cannot, is that dip they could fix???????? Year go year come and every single pot hole they fix breaks out months and sometimes weeks after and breaks out worse than before. This leads me to believe Public Work Department have no "Engineers" so I definitely have no confidence in them!!!!!!!
