Hong Kong leg of Asia Trade Mission 'highly productive & rewarding' - Hon Smith
The mission which runs from May 20-30, 2024, aims to bolster the VI's position as a leading partner for facilitating cross-border trade and business in Asia. The delegation includes representatives from ten firms that sponsored and participated in the Trade Mission, showcasing the collaborative spirit of the BVI's public and private sectors.
The meetings aimed to bolster financial and economic ties between the BVI and Hong Kong, and highlighted the mutual benefits of such partnerships.
According to Hon Smith, “Our engagements in Hong Kong, one of the BVI’s most important markets, have been highly productive and rewarding. We have held valuable discussions with a wide range of officials, regulators and industry stakeholders on the critical issues shaping the future of financial services in Hong Kong and the BVI.”
She added that there was a resurgence of interest in VI products both at the government and private sector meetings while promising to maintain a high level of engagement of partners that remains mutually beneficial.
Hong Kong first leg of the mission
Hong Kong, the first leg of the 2024 Asia Trade Mission served to bolster the BVI's position as the region’s main partner for facilitating cross-border trade and business. The Mission will continue to other key locations in the region, aiming to build on the successes achieved in Hong Kong.
Organized in conjunction with the BVI’s Government Representative Office in Hong Kong, 200 industry stakeholders from Hong Kong’s most prestigious offshore and onshore law firms, corporate service providers and banks, as well as numerous intermediaries gathered for a series of panels and presentations to discuss the BVI advantage.
According to the Government Information Service, the VI stands at the forefront of international corporate structuring for cross-border transactions and investment worldwide and is a go-to hub for Asian businesses.
More than 60% of government revenues come from financial services, and since the establishment of the BVI business company four decades ago, over one million companies have been incorporated, with 57% originating from Asia.

Thats it no details no explanation just her word that it was.
There were certainly the following highly rewarding benefits for some:
First Class Flights.
5 Star Hotels.
All food and drinks - in some of the world's most expensive restaurants and bars.
Healthy per diem cash payment on top of accommodation, food and drinks.
Plenty of time for shopping.
Maybe a layover in Miami on the way there and back.
I suspect that everybody involved enjoyed those benefits.
Where are the photos of members from the following IMPORTANT entities or were they not even considered to attend because it’s more of a bosom buddy trip:
