Hon Shereen D. Flax-Charles resigns from Virgin Islands Party
Her announcement was made on social media today, February 12, 2023.
Noting that she will be seeking re-election in the 2023 General Election of the Virgin Islands, Hon Flax-Charles said she will not be doing so with the VIP.
‘I must part ways’ with the VIP- Hon Flax-Charles
“While I am grateful for both the triumphs and the obstacles which I encountered along the way, it is clear to me, that at this stage, I must part ways with the Virgin Islands Party. As of today, I have tendered my resignation.”
Hon Flax-Charles thanked the Virgin Islands Party Congress and her colleagues in the House of Assembly for her “introduction to this trial by fire”
She said: As imperfect as the circumstances may have been, we worked together to see much done and this is my great pride!”
Hon Flax-Charles noted that her work in politics is not ended, as she said there is so much more that needs to be done to maintain and secure the Virgin Islands for the generations to come.
“It is known, I never abandon the job. So, let the question go answered. I am seeking re-election to continue the effort which has been entrusted to me. If it is the people’s will, I will continue to be their voice and champion, even if I stand alone!” Hon Flax-Charles declared.
It remains to be seen how the VIP will respond, as Hon Flax-Charles is a serving Junior Minister in the Unity Government on account of her being a Member of the VIP.
It also remains to be seen if Hon Flax-Charles will contest the next elections as an At Large Representative or whether she will challenge the incumbent Ninth District Representative Hon Vincent O. Wheatley.

Only know people around elections, they will come nice nice begging for your votes but after that they pass you in the government expensive rides, glass up and not even a toot horn. But I am here waiting patiently on all
Of them. I voted that woman the last time because she was running with the party I supported, but ordinarily, she could have never get my vote.
It takes someone with guts and fortitude to walk away like that. Hon lady you have gain my respect. They know they cant afford to lose you. If they thought they could they would have made the first move.
They not only lose you they also lose whitley as well. The sheep has been a total failure so he gone as well. If they wanted the sheep they would have put him in the first.
My advice to you lady is stay far from the ndp if 8th is the leader. He would join with the 7th the first chance he gets. Only issue facing him is that VIP already has a man for the 8th. His best bet is to move to the 7th there you would find your weakest link.
Hon Julian Willock? Ex speaker sound better.
Knowing and dealing with that lady for over 35yrs I can tell you that if she doesn't have or get her own way you and she will never get along.
Boy all you ungrateful in this place wii.wow.
