MAZATLAN, Mexico – Virgin Islands (VI) Minister for Communications and Works, Hon Kye M. Rymer (R5), now acting Premier of the VI, has attended the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) Cruise Conference and Trade Show held at Mazatlan, Mexico from November 7 to 10, 2023.

According to a Facebook post from the Government Information Service (GIS), Hon Rymer participated in activities and engaged cruise executives in discussions while at this year’s FCCA Cruise Conference.

Norwegian one of the better ships, if not the best ship coming here still leaves at 1 pm, 2pm the latest 3pm If they could have gotten this ship to leave at least 4pm .it would be a great achievement.

This is getting ridiculous now. Someone on his ministerial level did not have to attend this course come on. Other leaders from other countries did not even attend. Chairwomen for the tourist board and Vance would have been fine. They just wasting money.

He has no clue about Tourism/Cruise Tourism but gone on this trip to further embarass us! We need these people out of Government asap or we will be stuck going no where for another 3 years. People wake up! We are playing dollyhouse! He's away and yet appointed acting Premier because they are all away! Craziness.

Why the Minister of WORKS leaving for a tourism base conference, not his portfolio....when the roads are in the state they're in?

Priorities....let's see the first class plane ticket.

There are only 2 in the BVI. Minister for Education out of the territory doing nothing again. Prove me wrong and provide a proper report on your return. The Junior Ministers were appointed to Act but we all know they know nothing about the positions they are acting in. We are doomed with this set!

Without knowledge of a subject, some people are just misleading the nation. The minister was accompanied on this trip by officials from the Tourist Board. These meetings are attended by high level representatives from other countries and zooming at some meetings will be to your disadvantage. Too many people are competing for the same tourist, and I am glad that the minister took the responsibility to attend. Small, minded people will always think small. Honorable Rhymer I am very proud of you, and I will vote for you in the next General Election.

Ministers and high level officials should do a press interview upon their return to the territory. If they claim that the trips are necessary, they should have no issue with providing highlights of their numerous trips.

If these professional travelers are working in our best interest, they should not have a challenge with keeping the people informed.
