Hon Julian Fraser 2019 B/Ball League tips off in August
Another Season Coming
This is according to a press release where Committee Chairwomen, Mrs Kharid T. Fraser, noted that the Committee met and received permission from the League's founders to continue another season this year. As usual, the League will host both Senior and Junior Divisions, however, this season the Junior Division will be ages 13-16.
All games will be played at the Save the Seed Energy Centre on the main island of Tortola. The Senior Division Championship team will again be awarded rings, while the Junior Division Champion will be presented with trophies.
Team registration will run from May 1, 2019, to May 31, 2019, and the League will release more details in the coming weeks.
Family Event
The League was founded in 2013 by Hon Julian Fraser RA who is the Third District Representative and Bishop John I. Cline, the founder of the Save the Seed Energy Centre in Duff’s Bottom, who says the event promotes wholesome family basketball while seeking to develop the sport on a national level.
The league is opened to both men and women and this year’s team registration fees are $200.00 for any 12-member squad. Over the years, there have been four championship teams, in 2013-Ruff House, 2014-Bayside Blazers, 2015-West Gunners, 2016- Splash Brothers and 2017/18- Bayside Blazers.
The 2019 League will get underway with an opening ceremony on Saturday, August 24, 2019, when current championship team Bayside Blazers will be awarded their rings by the League's founders.
