CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St Thomas, USVI- Junior Minister for Culture and Tourism Hon Luce D. Hodge-Smith (R4) heads the list of Virgin Islanders to be honoured this year by the League of British Virgin Islanders.

The other Virgin Islanders who will also be honoured at the 20th Dr Norwell E. Harrigan Memorial Scholarship Luncheon on Sunday, May 18, 2025, on St Thomas, will be businesswoman Nona Vanterpool Bonelli, and attorney Maya M. Barry.

USVI Governor on list of honourees

US Virgin Islands Governor Albert A. Bryan Jr is one of two US Virgin Islanders to be honoured. The other is Mr James Penn.

The League of British Virgin Islanders is a USVI–based non-profit organisation whose purpose is to foster the continued improvement of the Greater Virgin Islands community through scholarship, cultural exchanges and community involvement.

The 20th Dr Norwell E. Harrigan Memorial Scholarship Luncheon will be held at the New Victor’s Hideout, 103 Sub Base, St Thomas, US Virgin Islands.

Tickets cost $75.00.

    Cap! What are their contributions? Why them and not others whom have given back through teaching, nursing etc. Don’t see what they’ve done civically
    to uplift the VI…

      @CBP, where were you when these ladies and their familes were and still are contributing to the BVI their home. I recommend do your history research. I am proud of them as a born and schooled Bristish Virgin Islander. Shine on Ladies and be bless.

      In the BVI we are not supposed to question anything. We cannot ask why or what when it comes to decisions, salaries, appointments, accountability, behaviour, nothing. We are expected to take what they tell us and give us without question.
