SEA COWS BAY, Tortola, VI- Constituents of the Third District and all residents of the Virgin Islands are being invited to a community meeting Third District Representative and Opposition Leader Hon Julian Fraser RA (R3) has branded as of “national significance”.

The meeting is slated for Valerie O. Thomas Community Centre in Sea Cows Bay from 7:00 PM tomorrow, Thursday, February 16, 2023.

“These are crucial times and I am aware that everything we do will have an enormous impact on your future, so your input is needed now more than ever to guide outcomes.

Matters of ‘great significance'

“Your participation in this meeting will certainly help,” Hon Fraser stated in his appeal to the public on social media.

The veteran legislator said current events such as the recent visit by the UK Minister for Overseas Territories Lord Frank Zacharias Robin Goldsmith, the aims and activities of the Constitutional Review Commission, and “of great significance” the soon-to-be-debated police bill are all matters desirous of the public’s input.

He said the HoA has postponed debate on the Police Bill because of concerns raised by the public, “thus giving you opportunities like this to be further heard.

“You need to know more about the Minister’s visit. You need to take seriously the fact that this constitution might just be your last, given that the last review was 16 years ago,” Hon Fraser stated, as he urged the public to capitalise on the “all-important opportunity” to share opinions and give input on these matters.

Politicians are becoming increasingly irrelevant,NULL and VOID. We are not better off now than we where 20 years ago although we are working. No new opportunities no innovation no modern infrastructures , no modern road net worth. No modernization of the capital. No opportunities for the youths

The Police Bill has created major alarm in the public based on its content that seem to violate one's democratic rights and freedoms. The Freedom of Information Act and the Human Rights Bill needs to be passed first then the new Police Act. If not, many innocent people will suffer based on what is happening now.

UK Officials are ignoring our democracy and democratic rights as a people of the BVI because they have deadlines in their pre-authored COI recommendations on legislation and policies to be passed which means they do not care if they are the best thing for the people of the BVI or not. They are quite aware the deadlines they imposed are unreachable. Just get it done when and how they say. This means that the House of Assembly and the public service is now a rubber stamp for the Governor and his UK bosses and to hell with democracy. This is a slap in the face of democracy and certainly does not reflect a true modern partnership. For example, clearly the Governor and his UK counterparts are angry the Police Act was not passed as they send it to the House of Assembly to be passed and passed immediately without amendments. As a result, they are coming for blood through abuse of power like what they are doing some of the public officers but will try to package it as otherwise as the Governor did in his latest press conference. This is a full dictatorship, and we need to rise up NOW!

It seems like in the BVI only black people are targeted, investigated, arrested, charged, and jailed without justice. Make sure you speak about this also.

The police and every subject under the Governor are failures and have too many unanswered questionable conducts. This is why I say the position of the Governor should be an elected one so they can be held accountable by the people and the laws of the land. Also, so we can check their bank accounts and assets before they took office, while in office, and after, so they do not run off with our money and hide it in Switzland or other places in the world in their family's names while having us looking at each other in the BVI as the thieves and corrupt because they have the power of investigation to keep our eyes off of them like they are doing public officers and others.

We demand the report from that lawyer man in the UK Cox who was working with the Attorney General and the Government in the COI. Every story has two sides and the side of the people of the Virgin Islands in this COI needs to be told. It is our only refuge from this organized unjustified attack against the people of the Virgin Islands. The Cox report is worth every penny and will cost less than what the Governor and UK spend to organize this pre-arranged COI and pre-authored recommendations to move forward their devious plot. Faser please address this now.

The BVI is the home of gossip and misinformation. Now the UK officers and their commissioner are through the public posing as tourist listening to the gossip in the rum shops, restaurants, taxi stand and all over, and then going in the office to file paperwork to search, pick-up persons, and then try to charge them on suspicion. If suspicion is a charge, then the whole BVI will soon be charged. When will our people see and understand this plot that is at hand in our land that is being disguised as good governance is really to try to enslave us because they hate us. This is concerning and it is not condoning wrong and saying it should not be dealt with but doing wrong to say you are trying to get things right is just as wrong. This needs to be addressed.

Maybe he is going to talk about plans for the development of SCB. Or maybe to tell us how the last plan didn't work and all the money disappeared.
