ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Ex-Minster for Health and Social Development Hon Carvin Malone (AL) said he got word from the Ex-Premier, Hon Andrew A. Fahie (R1) that he was "okay".

When pressed on whether he has spoken to the Premier during a press conference on June 15, 2022, the former minister added, “I didn’t have the opportunity as yet. I got word that he sent to make sure that I was informed, that he inquired about me, and that he wanted to just let me know that he was okay.”

Hon Malone reiterated, “I have not had the opportunity to speak with him directly, but he sent word.”

Meanwhile, the former Minister assured that his decision to cross the floor into the Opposition and out of the Unity Government back benches had nothing to do with the ex-premier Fahie.

Loyalty remains to VI - Hon Malone

“My Loyalty is to the People of the Virgin Islands. My loyalty has always been that. I was president of the Virgin Islands party since 1999. We were founded back in 1971. We made sure that at the end of the day, people were the centre of the Virgin Islands Party. When we amended the constitution in 2000 and in 2006, people first were always the center of this,” Hon Malone detailed.

“My loyalty remained because I had the opportunity, the golden opportunity… to work with the late great Hamilton Lavity Stoutt... I had the opportunity to work with Ralph O’Neal, he passed. I had the opportunity to work with Honourable Julian Fraser, I had the opportunity to work with Honourable Andrew Fahie,” he added.

Hon Malone said at the end of the day, his the loyalty has always been to the people of the Virgin Islands.

He said for persons who has been following him for the past 8-10 years, it has always been a concern for him to see not just the VI, but other British OT's constant direct outside attack, especially against the financial services sector.

Hon Malone also assured that even though he is now in the Opposition he will continue to oversee the First District in the absence of Hon Fahie.

He said he's O.K.? What about the entire BVI that he has put in turmoil? He didn't ask if WE were o.k. This man has shown himself for who he really is. He and his sidekick Maynard need to stay exactly where they are and let the cards fall where they may. We cannot support a corrupt person who has jeopardized our livelihood and Constitution. He's o.k, but we ARE NOT Mr. EX PREMIER! Get it? Case Closed!

Now the people want you to cross back to unity party, and become united and solved whatsoever problems there is. I cannot find that fifteen people are willing to unite and one want to jump ship, stay on bard and help them. This is not the time to do hopscotch, that country is counting on everyone who lives there, its a conflict of interest , certain people want you to feel its otherwise. Stay on board. No one who cross floors is getting my vote.

The topic is that former Premier sent words that he is ok
Hon. Carvin Malone gave reasons why he crossed floor.
Floor crossing in BVI politics is the norm for many years. Two cannot work in unison with each or others unless they first agreed.
The former Premier Andrew A. Fahie and the disbanded, VIP Cabinet pretended to, at lease, worked together in spite of his alleged crookedness, included the current Premier Hon. Dr. Natalio Sajande Wheatley.
The former NDP Hon. Maduro Caine crossed the floor, joined the former VIP Cabinet was a ccepted with opened arms. She is now a part of the patchuped unity government. All that are accepted my many as good. But as soon a the Hon. Minister Carvin Malone crossed crossed the floor, because he did not or cannot agree to certain things, or the way the so-called Unity Government that was forged together by the present governor under the CoI recomendations to him, the self proclaimed unity government headed by Hon. Dr. Natalio Sajande Wheatley, and many others see floor crossed Hon. Minister Cavin Malone as an evil man. Set of hypocrites, are not they?
Is not what good for the goose good for the Ganda in BVI politics?

You really took time to ramble all that muck. Long story short nothing wrong with crossing it is his cross to bear. He crossed because he’s a bitter soul. And his true colors will show. Just don’t come back here crying. You reap what you sow and he is going to PAYE
