Hon Fahie meets with Hon Pickering as meetings with Gov't continue
The discussions reportedly centred around, but were not limited to, repairs to the Towers Public Dock and jobs and training for youth of the district.
“As previously stated, the need to meet with the Ministers of Government among other Government Officials, elected and non-elected, as well as other organisations in an effort to have matters in the First District as well as the entire Virgin Islands adequately addressed continues to be one of my main missions,” he said in a statement sent to this news site.
“In so doing the Minister for Natural Resources and Labour hosted a meeting in his office with me [last week] to discuss matters of concern pertaining to the First District and the entire Virgin Islands that fall directly under the duties and responsibilities of him as Minister for Natural Resources and Labour and his Ministry,” he said.
Hon Fahie described the discussions as progressive and fruitful and noted that the broad headings of discussions were, but not limited to: needed repairs to Towers Public Dock; naming of the Towers Public Dock; marine studies for youth of the district; investing in the district’s youth in the marine sector through the purchasing of boats; cultural and fishing village and mini water park on Carrot Bay reclamation; job fair day for our Virgin Islanders especially our youth in each district.
“The discussions went as well as can be expected. I was afforded the opportunity to go in-depth into each heading, among other areas, thereby highlighting the intent and benefits of the different initiatives for the people of the First District and the people of the wider Virgin Islands. The contents of the letter written to the Minister also expounded on some of the aforementioned headings,” he said.
“My meetings with the Ministers and other Government and non-Government entities in order to ensure the best for the First District and the entire Virgin Islands will continue. I will also continue to keep the public informed of the meetings as well as the outcomes,” said the former Education and Culture Minister.
Meanwhile, Hon Fahie told Virgin Islands News Online that no timelines have been set for the accomplishing of the objectives discussed during the meeting and that checks would be done at intervals regarding the intended outcomes on commitments made.

P**st**n you & your sister can stop blogging please. I voted for Fahie this last time. The time before I voted for you. Why? You talk a smooth talk with no action while Fahie does his best to deliver and actually help people to be better and he knows that the seat is not Will to him but you obviously don't get that as yet.
