Hon. Fahie invites residents to thanksgiving & praise service
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – First District representative Hon. Andrew Fahie is inviting residents of the first district and well-wishers to a thanksgiving and praise service on Sunday December 4, 2011 at 3 p.m. at the Capoon’s Bay Recreation Ground.
In a press release issued from his district office, Hon. Fahie thanked God for acting on “our prayers for a free, fair and incident free General Elections 2011” and thanked everyone for their support during the election.
“On behalf of my family, First District Committee, and myself, I will like to thank my people of the First District for their support given to me during the recently concluded General Elections. Through your continuous support, guidance and prayers, you have ensured my success in being re-elected to represent you my people of the First District in the House of Assembly for the fourth consecutive term.”
He assured residents that he does not take their confidence they have placed in him lightly to represent them and is humbled by their support.
“I thank you for the 611 votes you gave me in the 2011 General Elections which is the same 611 votes that you gave me in the 2007 General Elections. You, my people of the First District have clearly demonstrated once again your consistency in believing that together we will continue to do great things in the First District and this Territory.”
The former education minister also thanked those who did not vote for him stating that it is their democratic right and it reminds him that he still has work to do in the district and in the Territory.
“Please be assured that whether you voted for me or not, I intend to give you the same quality representation. Although now a Member of Her Majesty’s Loyal Opposition I will do my best, despite the challenges, to continue to give quality representation. I know that with God’s help and the support of my people of the First District, among others, we will get the job done. I always approach life with a positive attitude because I firmly believe that life is about enjoying the moments that go well and managing the moments that don’t. In so doing today’s seeds of sorrow are tomorrow’s fruits of success. We must now unite as a people, as a District and as a Territory.”
He also offered congratulations to all elected members of the second House of Assembly including the current Government.
“Let us concentrate on the areas that unite us as a people rather than the areas that will continue to divide us. Can we do it? Yes we can! Must we do it? Yes we must! Will we do it? Yes we will because the eyes of the future are looking back at us hoping that we get it right. Let us not disappoint the future.”
