Holiday Message by Premier Andrew A. Fahie
Throughout his life, Jesus’ message to us was to love each other, even our enemies. What better way to honour His coming and His sacrifice than to live with love in our hearts, and to show love to all our fellow men and women.
The last few years have put our faith and our humanity as Virgin Islanders to the test, and we have emerged triumphant. We have shown BVI love to our neighbours, friends, and guests.
We have been our brothers and sisters keepers, we made sure the needy were dry and they had food in their bellies. Our compassion has been one of our greatest strengths in rebuilding after the disasters of 2017 and is among our greatest assets going forward.
We have a long way since the storms but we still have a long way to go. There are still many among us who are not yet fully back on their feet; however, we can lighten their load, we can put a smile on their face and joy in their heart.
It matters not how big or small the gesture is, let it be our mission this Christmas to spread cheer, to help others to have a Happy Christmas.
On behalf of the Government of the Virgin Islands and my family, I extend warm wishes to all Residents from District 1 to District 9.
