ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- They may not be united as an Opposition but that will not prevent them from peppering the government legislators with questions when the Second Sitting of the Second Session of the Fifth House of Assembly gets underway at 10:00 AM today, February 11, 2025.

Questions range from how the Virgin Islands will respond to the trade war “between some of the major food and other human essentials producing countries”, the proposed merger of law enforcement agencies, monies paid by government for the upcoming Vybz Kartel Concert to how “soon the Government of the Virgin Islands retirees’ pension will be adjusted” to align with the recent salary increase for public officers.

All of the Opposition Members have questions, except for Hon Lorna G. Smith, OBE (AL).

So we have the opposition, and the opposers? Who questioning who? I oppose this. If they can't get their mierda together, they cant question nobody.

the only time you do not hear an argument in the House Of Assembly is when they are giving themselves a raise in monthly pay or additional retirement benefits

Be nice to know when the VI is going to get the last 6 years financial reports so that the premier has something to base his budgets on and we have something to judge them by.

Until then we clearly have no transparency and their is clearly no intent of our politicians learning and progressing anything we learnt from the COI.

May be best that we reconsider the first recommendation again until our local leaders start to behave like leaders.

And of course then and only then should we even start to think about the possibility of independence.
