HLSCC to host transfer week in collaboration with Missouri Southern State University
Through the College’s ongoing partnership with MSSU, students can complete the first two years of their degree at HLSCC and transfer up to 64 credit hours to MSSU, where they will complete the remaining 60 credit hours to fulfil degree requirements. This seamless 2+2 transfer programme offers a cost-effective and accessible pathway for HLSCC students to earn a bachelor’s degree in the United States.
Transfer Week will feature multiple events, including two informative sessions on Wednesday, November 20, led by MSSU’s President, Dr Dean Van Galen, and Senior Coordinator of International Recruitment, Dr Stephanie Goad. These sessions, hosted in collaboration with HLSCC’s Student Affairs Department, will introduce MSSU’s academic programmes, transfer policies, and resources to current students, alumni, and prospective transfer students. Both sessions are open to the public, with Session 1 scheduled from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Atrium on the Main Campus at Paraquita Bay, and Session 2 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. in the Green Room at the Learning Resource Centre. No RSVP is required for these information sessions.
On Friday, November 22, MSSU will host an Alumni and Social Gathering from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the Learning Resource Centre. MSSU alumni, prospective students, and friends are invited to network and connect with President Van Galen and Dr Goad over food and drinks. Attendees will gain insights into MSSU’s latest developments and have the chance to learn more about transfer and international study opportunities at MSSU. An RSVP for this event is required and can be made by emailing greim-k@mssu.edu.
As part of Transfer Week, HLSCC will also hold its annual Passport to Opportunities: Transfer Seminar on Thursday, November 21, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The seminar will feature notable speakers, including Dr Albert L.
