HLSCC & Rotary partner to launch scholarship in memory of James J. Harris

PARAQUITA BAY, Tortola, VI- The memory of the late founding member of the Rotary Club of Central Tortola, James J. Harris, will be honoured and immortalised with a scholarship programme at H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC).

The James Harris Scholarship Programme, created at H. Lavity Stoutt Community College, will provide financial assistance to aspiring accountants, enabling them to pursue their associate's degree.

Mr Harris was an Accountant.

The scholarship programme will be launched on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at H Lavity Stoutt Community College.

An enduring legacy

"This scholarship reflects James’s enduring legacy in the community, where he made significant contributions both professionally and personally," Rotary Club of Central Tortola said of its late founding member in a press release today, March 14, 2025.

The launch will be done via a press conference that will offer insights into the scholarship’s purpose, the impact it will have on future generations, and how it supports the community’s educational and professional growth.

Mr Harris passed away on November 21, 2023.
