PARAQUITA BAY, Tortola, VI- The H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC) is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Level 3 Diploma in Principles of Management and Leadership. This internationally recognised certification, equivalent to an associate degree or A Level, is ideal for those seeking to enhance their management skills or pursue further education opportunities in the UK or US.

The CMI Level 3 Diploma provides a unique pathway for learners interested in UK studies, as it bypasses the need for a foundation year, saving time and additional costs. It also offers advanced placement for those enrolling in US-based schools. Designed for managers who supervise or lead teams, the course is accessible even to those new to management.

Ms Marva Wheatley, Dean of the Workforce Training Division at HLSCC, highlighted the hands-on approach of the programme. "The training is application-based, where learners write about work-related experiences and are paired with an advisor who provides support throughout the process, making the experience rewarding and enriching," she explained.

Who is CMI programme open to?

The CMI programme is open to anyone with a high school diploma or equivalent. For mature workers, the programme offers an attractive opportunity to gain an internationally recognised diploma in just one year. With classes held every six weeks for presentations, the flexible format easily accommodates learners from the Caribbean Region and beyond through virtual learning.

Since 2005, HLSCC has been an approved CMI provider, offering certifications at Levels 3, 5, and 7 in Management and Leadership. The programme has seen great success, including an impressive 84% pass rate for first assignments in the 2024 annual audit.

Applications are open until October 4, with classes beginning on October 31. Prospective students are invited to attend a virtual information session with Dean Marva Wheatley on September 18, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. (Zoom Meeting ID: 892 1843 8568, Passcode: 900264) to learn more about the programme.
