Henry Prince appointed Virgin Gorda's District Officer

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Mr Henry Prince has been appointed District Officer for Virgin Gorda, effective 3rd February 2025.

As District Officer, Mr Prince will coordinate various Government activities on Virgin Gorda to ensure departmental objectives are met, serve as a focal point for all official inquiries as well as manage the Government Administration Building facilities.

Mr Prince brings more than 20 years of leadership and managerial experience to the role and has previously served as Director of Facilities for the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College and Operations Manager of the Bitter End Yacht Club.

Mr Prince holds a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management, a Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Leadership from the Chartered Management Institute as well as a Graduate Certificate in University Teaching and Leadership.

Mr Prince said he was humbled to serve the Virgin Gorda community as District Officer and added, “The role represents the Public Service's commitment to maintaining a standard of excellence across the Virgin Islands, and I am delighted at the opportunity to contribute to this progress. I look forward to working and engaging with colleagues and the community in this capacity.”

As District Officer, Mr Prince will work alongside the Sister Islands Programme Coordinator, Mrs Monel Nickie, District Officer for Jost Van Dyke, Ms Carmen Blyden and District Officer for Anegada, Ms Shirley Vanterpool Evans.

Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Deputy Governor, Mrs Sharleen DaBreo-Lettsome, MBE commended Mr Prince on his appointment.

Mrs DaBreo-Lettsome said, “District Officers play a critical role in ensuring residents on the Sister Islands receive the best possible service from the Government of the Virgin Islands. Mr. Prince is a valuable addition to the Sister Islands Programme Unit and I am confident that his skills and experience will allow him to succeed in this role.

The Government of the Virgin Islands remains committed to the effective administration of the Sister Islands through the Sister Islands Programme Unit.
