Henry opener gives Lucian Stars the points!
Although Henry opened the scoring for the Lucian outfit after just 14 minutes, by then it could have been at least two apiece as both sides created chances in a frenetic first few minutes.
The Ballstars Jamie Brown had the first chance from 6 yards out, but was unable to find the target. The Lucians then hit the post and had a goal disallowed for offside before Cesar had an effort cleared off the line by Thomas Dainty.
The Lucian Stars had begun to be dangerous on the break and looked to have the speed down the wings to cause the Ballstars back line problems.
It was Henry who raced onto a through ball to beat both the advancing goalkeeper and two defenders and calmly lift the ball into the empty net. The keeper was hurt in the collision with his defenders and received several minutes of attention before heading off for a further check on some serious bruising to his leg.
Rather than providing the spark for the Ballstars to get back into the game, the match took a decided turn for the worse as both sides began effecting niggly or late challenges.
Whilst the Lucian Stars were no angels, the Ballstars play deteriorated the most as they became increasingly more angry with every perceived injustice, remonstrating with the Referee over very little of note and losing their shape through ill discipline.
The second half began little better than what was witnessed during the first half.No more than half chances, plenty of yellow cards, a Red for Agrey Henry and an own Goal to Cesar following some fine skill in the penalty area from Benjamin Cameo.
His spin and shot looked to be covered by the goalkeeper, before Cesar sliding across on the intercept was unlucky to see the ball diverted into the opposite corner off his shin.
