The Minister stressed the importance for persons to get vaccinated at the latest COVID-19 update today, June 29, 2021.
“I am appealing to everyone who has not received their first dose to do so before July 3 to ensure that they receive the second dose within a four-week timeframe and are fully vaccinated as per the vaccine manufacturers’ guidelines,” he said.
Hon Malone said that while persons may have questions about when will be the best time to get vaccinated, including concerns on the lack of choice for vaccine brands, "I am here to say that the best vaccine available is the one that we have in stock!"
Do what is necessary - Health Minister
Hon Malone continued, "We cannot determine what our fate may be with the regional and global events surrounding COVID-19 but we can do what is necessary to continue to safeguard ourselves and our loved ones."
He encouraged the continued adherence of public health protocols such as wearing face masks, frequent hand hygiene and maintaining physical distance in public spaces.
"We must get vaccinated as our best tool to reduce transmission, prevent severe illness and prevent hospitalisation caused by COVID-19."
Hon Malone further assured that the vaccine available in the VI has been proven safe and effective as millions of persons have already been vaccinated with the AstraZeneca vaccine.
To date, 12,681 persons have received their first doses, while 8,918 have received their second doses.

those of you having an issue with the vaccine should live together in one community i am sure government can set u all up on one of the cays
some businesses took many many years to develop in our small economy and the handful come along seeking to disrupt of companies
you have all rights not to take the vaccine but do have the right to destroy our private enterprises: get a government job they have the cash flow to shell out
some of us on here don’t have two dimes to rub together simply a set free lip service and old talk
