Haval SUV reported stolen on Tortola

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Information reaching our News Centre is that a Haval SUV has been reported stolen in the [British] Virgin Islands.

According to reports, the grey SUV has a license plate: PE 1490.

It is unclear where exactly on Tortola the vehicle was stolen and when.

Anyone with information that could lead to the recovery of the vehicle is asked to call police at 311 or 368-5329.

Vehicle theft advisory

It was earlier this month that the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) issued a public advisory over the continued theft of motor vehicles on Tortola.

In a release on July 12, 2024, the RVIPF said for two months, between May 11, 2024, and July 11, 2024, it received and investigated eight reports regarding vehicles being taken without the consent of the owners.

It related that in all cases, the keys were left in the vehicles either by the owner or by customers.

    Though the place is so small, that vehicle can be missing for quite some time, as the police wont be putting much emphasis in looking for it. The danger of it is that with Festival about to start, it can be use to facilitate criminal activities. Sad!
