Hat-tricks highlight latest BDO Primary School League action!
With Primary Five exams taking precedence, the week has been fragmented, but that didn’t stop Cedar School U-9’s from cruising past Leonora Delville 7-0 courtesy of a hat trick by Nathan Haycraft. He scored in the 5th, 15th and 23rd minutes to cap a fine all-round performance.
Michael Palladino had opened the scoring in the 2nd minute and further goals came from Zack Lettsome in the 8th and 30th minutes as well as a superb long range volley from Prince David Archer.
Haycraft was named as Cedar’s MVP whilst Erisha Bobb took the honour for LDPS for an energetic display of defense for her team.
Also in U-9 action, Dimitri Sprauve netted three times as Enis Adams Primary beat Anegada 5-1. With just a 1-0 lead at the break, Sprauve completed his trio early in the second half, Dazani Retter made it 4 in the 28th minute and an own goal rounded out the scoring for EAPS.
Ajani Faulkner scored the only goal for Claudia Creque and was named their MVP, whilst Sprauve was an obvious choice for EAPS.
In the Under 12’s, Giovanni Grant also recorded a hat trick with goals in the 5th, 24th and 30th minutes as Joyce Samuels Primary beat Claudia Creque 8-0. However, not to be outdone, Timothy Lewis also finished the game with three, completing his hat trick with virtually the last kick of the game.
The other two goals came from Dexron Durrant and an own goal.
In Under 7 play, Leonora Delville overcame a spirited Cornerstone team to win 2-0. Everest Stoutt had given them a one goal advantage at half time, a lead which was only doubled in the 19th minute of a pulsating match. Akel Walker secured the points, but Stoutt took the MVP honour which was also bestowed upon T’hkoy Morton for Cornerstone.
Montessori also recorded a fabulous win to give the second half of their campaign some momentum, crushing Leonora Delville 3-0. Sebastian Esser prized open the LDPS defence in the 2nd minute to open the scoring before Dylan Kline doubled the advantage in the 13th minute. The victory was rounded out by an own goal and Kline was named as MVP for Montessori. Nevron Challenger was named MVP for LDPS.
Some games, mainly for Claudia Creque, resulted in forfeits but generally it was another good week on the field at least.
Off the field though, rumours are abounding of disgruntled Coaches apparently not receiving reimbursement for their time as promised, but attempts to contact BVIFA officials went unanswered.
