Gunshots reportedly heard in Huntums Ghut & Lower Estate!

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Reports reaching our newsroom from many residents are that they heard gunshots being fired last night, August 10, 2017, in the area of Lower Estate, on the main island of Tortola.

There have been no reports of injuries following the reported gunshots. In addition, about two days before we received other reports of gunshots been heard in the area of Huntums Ghut, also on the main island of Tortola.

Police spokewoman Diane L. Drayton did not immediately respond to our queries today, August 11, 2017.

Ove the past six years gun crime in the tiny British Overseas Territory of the Virgin Islands has increased, with some five gun related murders in 2017 so far.
