One on the beach in broad day light at CGB, and then one in the early evening at SCB. Not sure what it was about - either some form of warning or maybe the gunman is even less competent than the politicians when it comes to getting something done.

Must be two different incidents. CHB was earlier in the day in broad daylight.

It’s the norm, they are trying to send a warning or someone is about to get green lit.

the magistrate and judges here too forgiving or dont give af

imagine you report you neighbor have gun hiding. the police find it and arrest him/her

next thing them on bail to come get you or whoever.

the same way they got the first gun them could easillyyy get another smdh

the magistrate think the gun drop out the sky? somebody supplying and you let them back out on the street to meet the supplier again.

we had gun amnesty last year nobodyy came forward and we expect punishment should be harsher after that....still nothin issa joke

When will we as a collective concede that we are at a tipping point with males in this community? Cane Garden Bay and Sea Cows Bay are declining right before our very eyes, just like other prominent villages have in the last 20 years. We now have desirable and non-desirable places to buy homes and live if we want to be safe and happy. We are seeing the creation of a permanent underclass: undereducated, underemployed, depressed, with nothing to live for. The people who are brave enough to highlight the hypocrisy and lack of morals in the community are vilified and silenced with epitaphs such as “negative” and “hater.” However, the demographic data on the males who commit these crimes are consistent. While there are some exceptions to the rule, they were raised in single parent homes, with a multitude of half siblings and very little to no paternal interaction. Their support systems consist of overwhelmed grandparents trying their best to turn the child around with very little assistance from the maternal head. If we could find the emotional strength and courage to face what is right in front of us, maybe, just maybe we will actually do something about it.

How about the police patrol the islands and arrest people that are breaking laws? how about that?

That makes perfect sense so the powers that be won't do it, either they are stupid or complicit, corrupt and in on it. We the public NEED to demand 10-year sentences for possession of an illegal firearm with no parole. It will WORK just do it. What are they afraid of.

those days are now gone because you only see police after an accident other than that you hardly see police in our community

I grew up in Sea Cows Bay, I now live in the US. I remember what a beautiful quaint, peaceful village Sea Cows Bay was. On my last visit back I was culture shock and shock to see how the village has changed.

I heard a total of 7 gunshots. I had just let my dog out in the yard to take care of his business. My poor dog who is an inside dog almost broke down the back door to get back in the house when the gunshots started going off. My fear is one or more of these stray bullets is going to make it way through a window striking innocent people in their homes.

I live in the East and I think about the same thing when I hear random gun shots. This is just concern on my part. Sooner or later it is going to hit our door step. Stray bullets don’t have eyes.

As though the gunmen have us as hostages. The same ones that is giving the gunmen a slap on the wrist is going to ………..

@When? Agree completely. The problem is the disaffected males, less so the guns. If every gun were found and confiscated, there would still be a large cohort of problem boys/men, with no obvious future. What made these girls/women decide it was a good idea to raise children like this?

Put surveillance cameras where needed! There is one way in and out of these areas and the parking lot in CGB should be monitored. This was promised for so many years. Do it now!
