Govt Ministers to face more Opposition questions today
Representative for the First District Honourable Andrew A. Fahie is to ask Premier and Minister of Finance Dr the Honourble D. Orlando Smith about unpaid invoices from Ministries and Departments.
He is also asking the Premier about all private legal firms or legal persons engaged or contracted by his Central Government from December 2011 to present.
Honourable Fahie will also ask about outstanding increments owing to all civil servants for 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015, respectively, and whether they have been paid in full as at February 28, 2015.
Questions from Hon. Julian Fraser RA
Representative for the Third District Honourable Julian Fraser RA is to ask the Premier and Minister of Finance what was his Government’s position on the repeated calls from the international community including the United Kingdom for the establishment of a beneficial ownership of companies register.
“Madam Speaker, if the answer to Question No. 1 is yes, could the Honourable Premier and Minister of Finance please tell this Honourable House if, this decision was reached before or after the Leader of the United Kingdom’s Opposition Labour Party Ed Miliband’s declaration of February 10, 2015 that ‘Today we are serving notice on tax havens linked to Britain that they must open their books within six months of a Labour government, or face international actions?”
Honourable Fraser will also ask the Premier whether or not his government has entered into any agreement for the privatisation of the Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport.
Questions for the Health Minister
Honourable Fraser is to ask Minister for Health and Social Development Ronnie W. Skelton the following questions: “Question 1; Madam Speaker, could the Honourable Minister for Health and Social Development please present this Honourable House with a list of all service providers, together with their contracts, hired by the British Virgin Islands Health Services Authority with active contracts during the 2014 year to prepare food for patients at the hospital. Question 2; Madam Speaker, could the Honourable Minister for Health and Social Development please present this Honourable House with the contract for the dentist stationed at Premier Dental to perform services on behalf of the British Virgin Islands Health Services Authority?”
Questions for the Works Minister
He will also ask Minister for Communications and Works Honourable Mark H. Vanterpool (R4) the following questions: “Question 1; Madam Speaker, could the Honourable Minister for Communications and Works please tell this Honourable House when he expects to surface the portion of road from the St. Georges Secondary School in Palestina to the Sir Francis Drake’s Highway? Question 2; Madam Speaker, could the Honourable Minister for Communications and Works please tell this Honourable House if the said portion of road from the St. Georges Secondary School in Palestina to the Sir Francis Drake’s Highway will be done in concrete as originally intended?”
He will also ask the Minister when he expects to complete the CDB funded works being executed in the Hannah, Palestina and Pleasant Valley area, and provide a status update; he asked who the contractor for the retaining wall along the road side adjacent to the Byron’s residence in the Manuel Reef section of Sea Cows Bay and he asked for the contract for this project.

The Premier and Minister of Finance will move a Motion for the Introduction and First Reading of the Bill entitled, Legal Profession Act, 2015; and Financial Investigation Agency (Amendment) Act, 2015. The Deputy Premier and Minister for Natural Resources and Labour Dr the Honourable Kedrick D. Pickering (R7) will move a Motion for the Introduction and First Reading of the Bill entitled, “Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 2015”;and the Virgin Islands Climate Change Trust Fund Act, 2015.
Bills for 2nd and 3rd readings
During today’s sitting it is slated that there would be second and third readings of the Pioneer Services and Enterprises (Amendment) Act, 2014; the Arbitration (Amendment) Act, 2014; the Securities and Investment Business (Amendment) Act, 2015”; Veterinary Act, 2014 and British Virgin Islands Electricity Corporation (Amendment) Act, 2015.

Listen if this is best we got and I'm speaking of all parties we need to let The Queen rule over all things here. It couldn't get any worse.
When I travel abroad when people find where my homeland is, one of the first questions is in regards to political correction. That's what we have become known for, corruption. Not the beautiful beaches, not the great cultural heritage. But Correction.
I remember a while back someone on here suggested we vote no confidence in our government and vote "none of the above."
At first I thought voting none of the above was a joke. But it can't be anymore a joke then watching or listening to our HOA members.
