Gov't grants 3-month grace period on water disconnections

According to a press release from Water and Sewerage Department, Minister for Transportation, Works and Utilities, Honourable Kye M. Rymer (R5) said the grace period will begin on Monday, January 18, to Friday, April 30, 2021.
“This period is to allow customers the opportunity to settle outstanding balances. Your Government understands the challenges that you the residents have experienced as a result of the impact from the COVID-19 pandemic last year. As a result, we decided to add some leniency in the regularly scheduled disconnections,” Honourable Rymer said.
He added, “The grace period will begin on Monday, January 18 to Friday, April 30. During this period, we are encouraging customers of the Water and Sewerage Department including those with bill discrepancies to make arrangements to bring their accounts current.”
For more information, persons may telephone the Water and Sewerage Department at (284) 468-5834/5901 or email wsd@gov.vg.
The Water and Sewerage Department said it continues to seek to ensure the provision of a continuous supply of potable water at affordable rates to all the residents of the Virgin Islands.

Why do you have to walk with a previous bill, what is wrong with their computer system? Your bills are never ready then they have this humongous bill. Electricity has their system up for such a long time. Why is it taking so long for Water and Sewerage to get their electronic system? This will get rid of half the problems with them and their customers. WATER AND SEWERAGE DEPARTMENT, IT"S 2021, GET IT TOGETHER!!!!
We have been phoning for months and the bill is never ready but have been disconnected before after finally being billed unknowingly.
Can't even get a straight answer out of the water staff and most times you are met with no enthusiasam or general feeling of no helpfullness.
BEST EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
