Gov’t electrician Macgregor Williams aka 'Gregor' passes
Mr Williams was an A Class Electrical Inspector who was well known in the Virgin Islands community.
Words of condolences were offered by Premier and Minister of Finance Hon Andrew A. Fahie (R1), Opposition Leader Hon Marlon A. Penn (R8) and Minister for Transportation, Works and Utilities Hon Kye M. Rymer (R5) at the Ninth Sitting of the Third Session of the Fourth House of Assembly of the Virgin Islands today, May 13, 2021, at the Save the Seed Energy Centre in Duff’s Bottom.
'True stalwart' & 'stellar civil servant'
Premier Fahie, in expressing condolences to the family, colleagues and friends of Mr Williams, said the public service has lost “a true stalwart” and a very good young man.
Hon Penn recalled participating in track events with Mr Williams in high school and described the late public servant as a stellar civil servant.
Hon Rymer said himself and Mr Williams, who was from the Fifth District, had a long history of sports and working together.
“Before he passed I visited him and we had some interesting conversations,” Hon Rymer said, adding that he has visited the grieving family.
“I know how difficult it will be in times like this but I offer my condolences to the family…”
