Good Guys outplay Pirate King in Filipino basketball competition
Venued at the Save the Seed Energy Centre at Duff's Bottom, the event featured both a Leisure Division and a Competitive Division, highlighting the talents and teamwork of Filipino expatriates in the region.
Day 1 Highlights—Competitive Division
The Competitive Division games brought intense rivalries and electrifying performances with Team Jameson triumphing over Pirate King, scoring an impressive 86 points to claim victory.
That winning lineup included players Louie A. Poblete, Asido, Ortega, Tugay, Aceron, Norte, Ruedas, Vergel, Gatchalian, Marco, and Rigor, whose gameplay proved unstoppable.
Good Guys dominated Team VG (Virgin Gorda) with a decisive 75-point win and standout players were Bautista, Rongavilla, Dinglasa, Negrido, Hubalde, Flores, Alvarez, Perido, Villanueva, Tan, Lucero, and Billones who each exhibited stellar coordination and strategic execution.
Leisure Division
The Leisure Division delivered equally captivating matches with Free Agents firstly emerging victorious against Blazers, delivering a remarkable 98-point performance led by players Prayon, Nadal, Cruz, Sarmiento, Ador, Sonio, Vasquez, Resuelo, Algar, Allen, Alonde, and Arnel.
East West Ballers overcame team BVI Max with a 67-point win, the team’s success driven by Austria, Gonzaga, A. Marzan, D. Marzan, EJ Marzan, Delos Reyes, Guarte, Marquez, J. Narez, P. Narez, and Viniega.
Day 2 Highlights
The second day of matches continued to showcase thrilling gameplay and athletic prowess with Blazers bouncing back with a win against East West Ballers.
Players Salapare, Despadeladero, Enolva, Manliclic, Laroza, Robledo, Mabanag, Demilio, Ocazo, Carciller, Magbanua, and Dela Cruz led their team to victory.
Free Agents solidified their dominance, defeating BVI Max once again with key contributions coming from Cruz, Sarmiento, Ador, Sonio, Vasquez, Algar, Allen, Prayon, Nadal, Resuelo, Alonde, and Arnel.
