ESTATE BOVONI, St Thomas, USVI- The recent clash between Governor’s Cup champion Gostinyou of Tortola and Lt Governor’s Cup winner Pure Speight of St Croix did not live up to the hype on November 3, 2024; however, the matchup is not yet over.

The two horses will clash in the feature race of the Festive Finish race card at Clinton E. Phipps Racetrack on St Thomas, US Virgin Islands on Sunday, December 22, 2024.

The race, the 7th and final of the day, is billed as the Winter Solstice Handicap and is a 1-mile 1/16 Open race for a purse of $15,000.

Ghostinyou of Top Priority Stables was defeated by Pure Speight in convincing fashion last month but its owner Lesmore Smith was optimistic his horse would bounce back.

Risk vs Reward going for another win!

Meanwhile, Risk vs Reward of Tortola will also be in action.

The speedster owned by Lesmore Smith won the Election Day Classic for a purse of $16,500 last month on St Thomas.

The first race on Sunday is at 1:30 PM.
