George Rodney & Rosemarie Flax re-elected President & VP of BVI Christian Council

SEA COWS BAY, Tortola, VI- Apostle George Rodney of the Living Waters Worship Center and Mrs Rosemarie Flax of Methodist Church will continue at the helm of the BVI Christian Council (BVICC) for another year as President and Vice President respectively.

This follows their re-election at the BVICC’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Elections held at the Living Waters Worship Center in Sea Cows Bay on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.

Apostle George was first elected President on March 27, 2023, while Mrs Flax was first elected Vice President on February 21, 2022.

Also re-elected is Secretary, Pastor Lesia Grazette of Deliverance Restoration Outreach Ministries.

Bishop Kenneth Hodge of NTA Living Hope Ministries has replaced Pastor Nolma Chalwell as Treasurer, while Chalwell will serve as Assistant Secretary.

The Assistant Treasurer is Bishop Colin Cousins of New Testament Church of God.

New PRO

There is a new Public Relations Officer (PRO), as Reverend Sandra Walters-Malone of St Paul’s Episcopal Church was elected. She replaces Reverend Dr Melvin A. Turnbull. The Assistant Public Relations Officer (PRO) is Reverend Erick V. Alexander of Methodist Church.

The Media Officer is Pastor Ve-Anna Thomas of Trinity Moravian Church, while the Ex-Officio Member to Virgin Gorda/Sister Islands is Bishop Paul Ricketts of New Testament Church of God.

President’s areas of focus

According to a press release from BVICC today, March 14, 2024, the newly formed Executive Committee is expected to have their first meeting within the coming days, to charter the way forward for the Council.

In sharing his vision for the next term, President Rodney cited three areas of focus: Unity, Youths and Social Ills in the community.

    What is the VI Christian Council doing to address and speak out against certain “pastors” who think writing a fancy sermon or getting a degree in theology automatically confirms them as a genuine pastor all while dabbling in and spearheading secular activities that involve alcohol, lewdness, secular music, etc.?

      Lot of them Pastor are sleeping with there musician, and recruiting young locked hair must be able to play music. To be a part of the high frequency band. Pastor have to approve sex before start. Meet her at the church across from the basket ball court. come after 5p m when the office clerk leaves. she report every thing to me , so please wait until she leave the church compound.     This is the best that they can do? Who does she have any love for? She fights against homosexuals and refuses to pass the same judgement on her family and inner circle. Some high minded people don’t even speak to a large part of the Christian Community! The Council can do better!

    Would be interested to know the volume of regular church-goers these folks collectively represent. Some of these churches might have only 20 or 30 attendees. My point is that this group speaks for only a very small number of adults here in BVI and probably ought to have zero political influence. I noticed that the BVI Mountain-bike Facebook group has 600 members so it might be fair to give that group of enthusiasts a similar forum if we do so with those people who are enthusiastic about their preferred mythology.

Another famous church title is Bishop. How can you call yourself a Bishop when you have two or three living wives? The Bible says that a Bishop is the husband of ONE wife.

The Christian Council as far I know didn’t tell us what transpired in the meeting with Amanda Milling and others prior to embracing the Unity Government ?Do the CC of the view they have no obligation to brief us? What is its purpose? Who are they responsible to?
