THRELLFALL, Tortola, VI- The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has arrested three males following a targeted operation into the suspicion of Keeping an unlicensed firearm in the Threllfall area on Friday, February 7, 2025.

One person, a male, has since been charged, the RVIPF stated in a press release today, February 10, 2025.

George Ollivierre Jr., 32, was formally charged with Possession of a Prohibited Firearm and two counts of Unlawful Possession of Explosives for being found with 35 rounds of .45 calibre ammunition and one round of 9mm ammunition.

Police said Ollivierre Jr remains in police custody as he awaits his appearance before the Magistrate's Court.

‘Serious offence’- Acting CoP Vanterpool

The RVIPF said it continues its relentless efforts to reduce illegal firearm possession and gun-related crimes in the territory.

“The public is reminded that possessing unlicensed firearms and ammunition is a serious offence, and law enforcement will take all necessary actions to ensure the safety of the community,” stated Acting Commissioner Jacqueline E. Vanterpool.

Anyone with information regarding illegal firearms or suspicious activities is encouraged to confidentially contact Crime Stoppers at 800-8477 (TIPS) or from overseas at (284) 800-8477, or the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339.
