George Ollivierre Jr charged with firearm & ammo possession

THRELLFALL, Tortola, VI- The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has arrested three males following a targeted operation into the suspicion of Keeping an unlicensed firearm in the Threllfall area on Friday, February 7, 2025.

One person, a male, has since been charged, the RVIPF stated in a press release today, February 10, 2025.

George Ollivierre Jr., 32, was formally charged with Possession of a Prohibited Firearm and two counts of Unlawful Possession of Explosives for being found with 35 rounds of .45 calibre ammunition and one round of 9mm ammunition.

Police said Ollivierre Jr remains in police custody as he awaits his appearance before the Magistrate's Court.

‘Serious offence’- Acting CoP Vanterpool

The RVIPF said it continues its relentless efforts to reduce illegal firearm possession and gun-related crimes in the territory.

“The public is reminded that possessing unlicensed firearms and ammunition is a serious offence, and law enforcement will take all necessary actions to ensure the safety of the community,” stated Acting Commissioner Jacqueline E. Vanterpool.

Anyone with information regarding illegal firearms or suspicious activities is encouraged to confidentially contact Crime Stoppers at 800-8477 (TIPS) or from overseas at (284) 800-8477, or the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339.

    WHO is allowing these guns and ammo into the BVI at the borders? Our so-called border patrol must have a lot to do with this because they are getting paid to let this enter. Why are they bringing all of these dangerous weapons into a small place like this? How much money can this produce? Young men are being shot dead for stupid reasons. So what is the plan for the BVI? It is too small to have drug wars, and how do we keep safe from all of this dangerous nonsense? I am sick of all of this and we never had to worry about this years ago.

    Dpp probably might still lose the case. Can’t sleep on she; whenever you think boy they get catch red handed their goose cooked now justice will be served. Next thing you hearing is they beat the case and walking free.

    Please! Deport this individual back to Haiti, after he has served his jail sentence, if found guilty. He is obnoxious in public. My visitors were scared and disgusted with his behaviour.
