The General Accountant is responsible for providing accounting support including all cash handling activities to accounting supervisors and other managers within the department. Keys daily worksheets to the general ledger system, ensures files are complete and maintained as needed, handles accounts payable and receivables duties, and assists accounting personnel.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Associate degree of higher in Accounting or Business (minor in Accounting)
• Prior bookkeeping related experience.
• Computer literate.
• Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other employees.
• Read, write, and speak English fluently.
• No employee will pose a direct threat to the health/safety of self or others.

Duties:

• Perform accounting and clerical functions to support Director of Finance and accounting team.
• Research, track and resolve accounting problems.
• Compile and sort invoices and checks
• Issue checks for accounts payable
• Record business transactions and key daily worksheets to the general ledger system
• Record charges and refunds
• Input type vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and other records
• File and tally deposits
• Responsible for armored car delivery of deposit for bank
• Any other duties assigned by the manager or supervisor.
