FRENCHMAN’S CAY, VI- Construction of the new Frenchman’s Cay Bridge is in progress and in a few months residents and visitors will be able to use a stronger and safer bridge.

The contract for the re-construction of the Frenchman’s Cay Bridge was awarded at a cost of $315,753.04 through a Cabinet-backed contract signed in December 2021 to Quality Construction, a company owned by My Roy L. Garraway.

Work on the 4-month project started in mid-February, following public consultations.

Progress continues- Premier Fahie

Premier and Minister of Finance Hon Andrew A. Fahie (R1), speaking at the community meeting for the project on Sunday, January 30, 2022, at the newly renovated West End Community Centre, had said the reconstruction of the Frenchman’s Cay Bridge “is a long-overdue problem that needed urgent attention for years.”

And, in an update today, March 24, 2022, Hon Fahie hailed the progress of the project.

“Progress continues to be made on the long-awaited new Frenchman's Cay Bridge project. The temporary roadway (bridge) is completed. The old bridge is being demolished while the construction of the new bridge has commenced. This is progress for the people. Your Government Working For You,” Premier Fahie wrote on his Facebook page.

As he should cause if he don't do it nobody else will. Each districts have their own rep. Each rep has to make sure his/her district is in need of nothing. Don't hate on Andrew for doing his part in fixing a problem he saw in his district.
